2009 NY Residential Top New Jersey Project
The design of this distinctive complex was inspired by its location on the Hudson River. Creating an ensemble of iconic forms rising on the New Jersey skyline, the two residential towers are sheathed in variegated blue glass that reflects and refracts both water and sky. The articulation of the uniquely faceted floor plates and glass corners of both the condominium and rental tower combine to create expansive views from all residences with 74 percent of the units having water views. Award-winning masonry detailing on the Greene Street façade, which incorporates a series of vertical setbacks, respectfully reflects the urban context of the adjacent historic district. The towers sit on a 35,000-square-foot landscaped podium, a private urban park that includes rolling meadows, a green roof, children’s play areas, outdoor cooking, a conversation fire pit, walking paths, and a dog run. The spirited modern interior design of the project echoes the architecture of the towers in its use of textured materials enlivened by reflective ambient light.
